Quality Control & Production – How Gresham Blake Studios Ensures Every Uniform Meets Our Standards

At Gresham Blake Studios, quality isn’t an afterthought. It’s engineered into every stage of production. From the first fabric strike-off to the final quality inspection, our process is built to guarantee consistency, durability, comfort, and sharp aesthetics across every garment.

1. Fabric Testing & Wear Trials

Every fabric goes through performance checks including colour fastness, pilling and abrasion resistance, shrinkage and wash testing, stretch and recovery, and handle, breathability and comfort assessments.

2. Pattern Cutting & Pre-Production Checks

Before production, our team signs off size sets and grading, stitch density and construction details, trims and hardware, lining combinations and internal finishing, and functionality across all garment types.

3. Manufacturing Across Multiple Regions

Our production network spans the UK, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, allowing us to match each project with the workshop best suited to the client’s requirements. Every manufacturer is selected on proven quality and consistency, ethical working standards, specialism, and capacity and deadline reliability.

4. Mid-Line QC & Final Quality Checks

Throughout production, our teams carry out mid-line checks. Once production finishes, a full industry-standard quality inspection covers stitch accuracy and thread quality, symmetry and alignment of panels, button tension and attachment, print or weave accuracy, colour consistency across sizes and batches, pressing and finishing quality, labelling, barcoding, and packing.

5. Reorder Management

We keep detailed records of every order including trim cards and care labels, fabric swatches, tech packs featuring all design details, and lab test reports. This ensures fast, accurate reorders and consistent quality from year to year.
